Flourish

As a school we really value our close link with St Chad’s
Church and the shared community around us. Please see their website for more information.

Through close work and support from the Diocese, we have
been able to work together to take part in the Flourish pilot project to
develop our provision for the pupils and families we work with.

What do we do?

Chaplaincy

Offering 1-1 opportunities for pupils to talk and share
worries with a trusted adult.

Flourish Lunchtime Club

A lunchtime club with singing, activities and stories based
on the teachings of The Bible.

Flourish Worshipping Communitee

On Wednesday, after school, families gather for an
inter-generational and interactive worship service including music, stories,
prayer and activities.

Collective Worship

Leading Whole School Collective Worship regularly alongside leaders from other local churches.

Flourish worshipping communities are based on five core
principles:

  • Young people’s voices are instinctively at the centre of all leadership
    decision-making and implementation
  • Clearly articulated and shared purpose to grow a younger and more diverse
    community of Christian disciples
  • Strategic leadership partnership between school/college and at least one church
community (with appropriate long-term governance and resource commitment)
  • Intergenerational faith development experiences involving children and their families of all
    ages
  • Worship that is fully integrated into the regular rhythms, practices, structures
and resources of the school/college’s vision for flourishing of children
    and adults
